Filey is a traditional small seaside resort on the stunningly beautiful Yorkshire Coast, which remains unspoilt, and has miles of fine sandy beaches that are ideal for safe bathing. 
 
Activities in Filey include Bowls, Tennis, Horse Riding, Sailing, Surfing and Fishing as well as an 18 hole Golf Course, all of these activities are within easy reach of The Forge Guest House. 
 
Local events such as Filey Folk Festival, Filey Music Festival, Party on the Pitch & the Food Festivals take place at various points during the year. 
 
Many people also come to Filey to watch the birds either at the R.S.P.B reserve at Bempton Cliffs or at Filey Brigg as well as at the Dams Nature Reserve nearby. 
 
Filey is also situated at the end of two well known long distance footpaths, The Cleveland Way and The Wolds Way.

Filey is a convenient place to stay to visit Scarborough and Bridlington, and you are on the doorstep of Heartbeat country with Goathland, Whitby, and the stunning scenery of the North York Moors being only a short drive away, as well as the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. 
 
Many fine stately homes are within easy reach including Castle Howard, Sledmere House, Burton Agnes Hall, as well as the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey. Only 40 minutes away is Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, which will keep the whole family amused all day. Eden Camp War Museum is also near by which is the only modern history theme museum of its type in the world and is constructed in the huts of an original prisoner of war camp.
